Caleb's 2nd Christmas!

We had a wonderful Christmas this year, my dad and stepmom finally arrived after 15" of snow and flights canceled on Tuesday. They celebrated Christmas with us and we had a great time. Caleb understood the opening presents a bit more but still got distracted with one toy and wasn't interested in opening anymore toys. My dad & stepmom left on Saturday and my mom flew in and she'll be here until the 4th. I'm soooo excited to have her here and I have to say that I have off of work until the 5th which is just as exciting. I'm definitely looking forward to the time off and spending it with my mom, Caleb and James. Here are the photos from our Christmas day!

Caleb sitting at his new table! What a big boy!!

What's in there??

Look at him, sitting in his big chair & unwrapping a toy

Look, it's a leap frog for the fridge!

Aren't you suppose to pull the busy bee, not eat the string!

Already a basketball player at the age of 1!!!

Yes, it's our very own rock band!!!

Just Another Sunday

(I think this is the first post without photos but I wanted to share Caleb's and I's adventure we had last Sunday)

Last Sunday I woke early so that I could do my weekly cleaning before Caleb woke up because I had a day all planned out for us. We were going to get most of my Christmas shopping done or at least the ones that required going to the mall and I wanted to go when all the stores opened up. We had like three stores to go to and the mall, and at the mall Caleb was going to get his picture taken with Santa.
So, I got all my cleaning done, got ready and then Caleb woke up, so I got him dressed and fed him breakfast. I packed the diaper bag, I even made a little lunch for Caleb since I knew we wouldn't have time to stop. I was so excited, everything was going as I planned...I should have known it was too good to be true.
We got loaded up in the car and we were about halfway there when Caleb was drinking his milk and it sounded like he was pouring his milk out. I turned around and I was right, the lid was all messed up and the milk was being poured down the front of his shirt, all over the car seat and his pants. Now, normally this wouldn't have been too big of a deal but the extra outfit I had brought for Caleb was not Santa picture worthy, thankfully I had packed another cup with juice in Caleb's lunch sot here were no problems there. I was determined to get his picture taken though - i have no plans on going back to the mall until after Christmas, there was only one solution I had to buy him an outfit while we were out, but babies r us and the mall weren't open yet.
When we arrived at our first stop - Toys R Us, i changed Caleb in the car into his un-worthy Santa picture outfit and we headed in to get Caleb and McKayla's Christmas gifts. After Toys R Us, I figured that Babies R Us would be open but no such luck, so Caleb and I went to another store to get Daddy's Christmas present then back to Babies R Us. it was still not open at this time... so we had a little snack in the car while we waited for the doors to open. There was a line outside of babies r us, I couldn't believe it! Finally, Babies r us opened and we were on a mission a Santa worthy outfit and a Santa outfit (him and McKayla are getting their pics taken as Mr. & Mrs. Claus). Our mission was interrupted by a corn popper - Caleb saw one and just had to have it. We were just walking by it and he put his hand outside of the cart and grabbed it. Now I had to fight with Caleb over the corn popper and he had to hold it in while he was sitting in the cart. It didn't work very work but the corn popper is now sitting in our living room but at least he does play with it. I finally found an outfit for his photo and his Santa outfit.
Next stop - Santa!! Once again, Caleb had a quick outfit change in the car. We were getting to the mall as it was opening so i was hoping that the line to see Santa wouldn't be too long, which it wasn't too bad....just about an hour wait. Caleb did really well in line to see Santa, he didn't get cranky and there was a cute little 5 year old behind us that entertained him. We were getting closer and Caleb was getting tired, I thought there is no way that he is going to go to sleep right as we get to Santa so i kept making sure that he would go to sleep. An hour later and there was Santa, it was Caleb's turn. I put Caleb on Santa's lap and because he was tired he had a confused looked, like who is this guy and just kept looking at Santa. We didn't get a picture with him smiling, just looking at Santa but mom is happy there is not a screaming Caleb and Santa photo! (I don't have a digital copy so I can't share it with you - but it's very cute)
Unfortunately, for Caleb we weren't done yet...I still had a few stores I needed to go to in the mall and was also there any case I saw something that caught my eye. Caleb had finally had enough though and we only made it through the stores that we "had" to go to so I don't have any more trips to the mall! All in all we had a successful day - we got everything accomplished!

Happy Thanksgiving (late)!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! On Thursday, James' parents came down and we had Thanksgiving dinner after James got off work. He had to work all weekend. Friday afternoon James' grandma, aunt and cousins came over to spend the afternoon with us and see our little guy. It was great to be able so spend time with the family. James' parents are headed back tomorrow and Caleb is sure going to miss his aunts and all the attention!! Now, that Thanksgiving is officially over, I'm so excited because that means it's Christmas time. It's time to get out the decorations! I love Christmas time and this year is even more important to me because Caleb is older and my family is coming to town! I can't wait. Will post pictures soon of the tree.

Grandpa put one of Caleb's little balls in his shirt, it was so funny. Caleb just kept saying ball and trying to get the ball out of his shirt but he couldn't figure it out!

Caleb still hasn't quite figured out how to press the red button on his atv to get it to go, so you have to push it for him while he rides around, here's Arinn taking her turn to help him out.

April got a turn too - I think his aunts had as much fun as he did!

Caleb feel asleep on grandpa, there was just too much excitement for him.

Isn't this just the cutest outfit! Caleb is just so cool!

These pictures are from a couple of weeks ago, Caleb always wears his jersey on game day and I thought maybe i could get him to pose in the backyard with his football. You can see it didn't work out very well.

This is a horrible picture of me and Caleb isn't even looking but you can see that I colored my hair red, I was hoping for a darker red like auburn but it didn't work out so well. Hopefully, next time I'll get the right color.

And these are the newest members to the Wall family, they have no names sadly. There was another one and a frog but they didn't stay with our family very long, they didn't seem to get along very well in our tank. :(

Trick or Treating & Faux Hawk!

Our Halloween season had a rough start, it started with Caleb getting sick, then I got a bad case of Pink Eye and I was put on antibiotics, then Caleb threw up at school and had to miss two day. After going back to work and Caleb back in school, we thought all was well, then James got sick with the same thing I had. But before he could get better I got some stomach virus and after I recovered James got sick again! He seriously recovered just in time for us to go trick or treating on Halloween night. So, unfortunately this year we missed out on Caleb's school Fall Festival & Trunk or Treat and going to the pumpkin patch but there is always next year!
Halloween night we thought we would head over to the Saginaw Community Center for their activities but we drove by and there were too many people so we headed back to our neighborhood and went trick or treating. We just stopped by a few houses on our street and the next street over. I don't think Caleb really understood what was going on but he was sure cute! He really got excited when we got back to our house and there were trick or treaters coming to the door. Everytime there was someone at the door, Caleb walked over to the door (yes he walked - he is now walking more then crawling and thinks he's such a big boy when he does it) to see who it was but he was always too slow. Then he got the idea I'll just sit by the door and wait so he was able to see some of the trick or treaters. We had to turn off our porch light when it was Caleb's bedtime because I couldn't get him to sleep he was too interested in who was at the door.

Caleb is already to go trick or treating!

Caleb trick or treating!
This week was a memorable weekend, not only because it was Halloween and Caleb went trick or treating but I finally gave in for the second time and got Caleb's hair cut. It was getting so long that EVERYONE was saying he needed a haircut but I don't know what it was I just didn't want to get his haircut and now I know why, he doesn't look like my baby anymore! Since he's 1 one and a big boy we decided that maybe he should have his hair styled so here are a few pictures of his new haircut. The first two are his "normal" everyday look, the last two are of his Faux Hawk! Yes, my baby has a mohawk!

Caleb's First Birthday

Well the time has come, my baby is no longer a baby, he has entered into the world of being a toddler.

My dad & stepmom came down for the weekend to join in the festivities, it started by Caleb's first trip to the Texas State Fair. Friday we headed over to Fair Park to go to the fair, we had a lot of fun, so much fun that Caleb took a nap for quite a awhile and didn't wake up until we were getting in the car. There was lots of fried food - this year's winner was chicken fried bacon, i'm glad to say that we didn't try it! James did have some fried cheesecake and something elese but I don't remember what it was now. :) Then Saturday we had Caleb's mini birthday party, we had two of our couple friends come over for some cake and then opening presents. Our little friends have the cutest little girl, McKayla (she's 3 months and you'll be hearing about her more and more...her and Caleb are going to get married one day. :) ) First off, Caleb was not interested in his birthday cake, Albertson's gave us a cake just for him and cameras were ready and he just sat there when i put the cake in front of him. He put his finger in the frosting and then just wanted mom. I put his hand in the cake and tried to give him some but it was a complete no go. I was disappointed - no pictures of him with cake everywhere for his baby book. After the rest of us had our cake, it was time for presents. I should first tell you that Caleb already got two birthday presents, a drum set and a power wheels atv that goes 2mph and only forwards! So, we all sit down to open his presents and he just wants to ride his atv, i keep pulling him back to his presents but he isn't interested. So, I ended up opening most of his presents for him, I hope he gets it down by Christmas (we'll have to practice some more). He was so funny, I would have sitting in my lap opening a present and he would just see it and then try to run back to his atv....then I had this great idea I'll let him open up another present that i knew was a bag of 100 balls and then he'll stay seated. Well, he did stay seated but then only wanted his ball. When it was all over Caleb had a great birthday, he got a drum/percussion set which he loves but its so loud sometimes, his atv, a tent for his 100 balls, a Romo jersey, and some toys.

Now that Caleb has turned one I guess he thinks that he needed to grow up a bit more and has started talking and jabbering more. His new favorite word is ball, everything is ball. Seriously, this kid has some athletic abilities, he'll spend forever playing catch with you and he'll throw it hard over his head with both hands. He hasn't quite got walking down yet but he is very close. He'll stand up on his own from sitting without any help and can balance there for a little bit. He's also taken a few steps, I think he can take about 5 steps before he'll fall down or fall into someone's arm. He's getting so big! :)

Caleb got his atv as a little early birthday present
