Last week, Uncle Phil came to visit us. I think he was shocked by how big Caleb has gotten. He has really crossed over from the baby to the big boy. While Phil was here, we were finishing up our potty training...Caleb now goes potty in the potty except he's having some trouble with number 2. :) I know you all wanted to know that. I'm very proud of him, he has gone about two weeks without an accident for number 1. Now, at nap time and bed time he still wears a pull up...we aren't there yet but soon. Potty training wasn't that hard, just had to wait until Caleb was ready to make the big step up. Now, he gets to move up in his class at school and he'll be with the three year olds starting tomorrow!! So, while Phil was here we just hung around town, we were able to make it to a Rangers game. Caleb has become the littlest biggest Rangers Fan, he recognizes a lot of players and really watches the game. Uncle Phil brought with him Caleb's early birthday present, Buzz Lightyear and Lighting McQueen pj's and the book "Going on a Bear Hunt". Caleb loves his new pj's, BuzzWooody (as he refers to both Buzz and Woody at the same time), he runs around the house "flying" and saying "to infinity and beyond". Here are a few pictures of Caleb aka Buzz Lightyear. In just 14 days, our little guys is turning three...stay tuned for more pictures to come of the big birthday boy!!!

Labor Day 2010
Labor day weekend we headed out of town and off to Galveston with a stop at Kemah Boardwalk on the way there and a stop at the Space Center in Houston on the way home. We stayed at the hotel Inn At The Waterpark...not sure if I would recommend it. The room was nice, we stayed in the new tower but our second night there the people next to us and above us were loud. The hotel is next to Moody Gardens, which was convenient, but it was away from the beach. Next time, I'm thinking a beach house would be nice!! Moody Gardens was a lot of fun, we spent Saturday going through the aquarium pyramid and the discovery pyramid. Definitely don't recommend the discover pyramid, it's an exhibit on immigration into Texas which we saw at the Bullock Museum in Austin. We went on the Colonel Paddleboat ride, Caleb loved being on a big boat. Sunday we went to the Palm Beach at the Moody Gardens, I loved it! There is a splash pad, two swimming pools, a kids water playground with slide and a sandy beach that overlooks the Bay. We spent the evenings at the beach, which I completely loved. It wasn't the same as the Oregon Coast but hey the water was warm and you could get in it without freezing your butt off. Caleb loved playing in the water. On Monday we left Galveston before the storm came but it caught up to us in Houston. When we were leaving the Space Center we experienced the red of the storm all the way through Houston. I was soo happy when we saw blue skies, thankfully we made it home before the storm made it to DFW. At the Space Center we took a tram tour and got to go to the building where the astronauts actually train and saw the Saturn V Rocket up close. Caleb loved all the space ships, although when Dad asked him if he wanted to be an astronaut, he said "No, I play soccer". Here are a few pictures of our trip, there are a lot more on our flickr site. Just go to: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jcwall
