Caitlin & Courtney are 1 month old!!

At 1 month: Caitlin is 7 lbs & 7 oz, Courtney is 7 lbs & 3.5 oz; they have gained over 1 lb in 2 1/2 weeks!! They can only wear Carter's brand clothes, everything else is too big even if it's newborn size.  (I can't wait until they grow just a bit more and can wear the "cute" outfits I have gotten for them).  Caitlin & Courtney eat 3 ozs every 3 hours and will sleep anywhere from 3 to 5 hours at a time at night.  (I love the 5 hour segments but they are very rare and have high hopes they become more frequent when I'm back at work).  In their first month, Caitlin and Courtney have met all of their grandparents, made their first trip to Target and Hobby Lobby, met big brothers school friends, went through 6 boxes of diapers (that's 600 diapers!!) and 4-5 cans of formula.  Caitlin & Courtney are learning to lift their head, Courtney is working on turning over and loves to lay on her side while Caitlin is happy laying on her tummy.  Caitlin loves to have Caleb read to her.  Caitlin and Courtney look into your eyes when being held, recognize their name, enjoy having a chat with you and love to sleep.

Tomorrow our little princesses turn 4 weeks old and we are on our own, just the five of us. We have been blessed by having my mom here for almost 3 weeks and James' mom here for a week. It was wonderful having the extra hands. As I write this, both girls are sitting in my lap. We do have my dad and stepmom coming for the weekend, I'll definitely be reiady forthem. When the girls were just a few weeks old they only ate, slept and pooped seriously. Now they are awake more often and are learning what they like and dont like. Caitlin is a momma's girl and loves to be held all time by mom, prefers the swing over the bouncer, wants the whole world to know if she's not happy, she doesnt like a wet diaper but doesnt like it to be changed either and she is very vocal compared to her sister.  Courtney is a little wiggle worm, if she is awake she is moving, she doesnt like to lay on her back and will turn onto one side or the other, she is not fond of the swing and loves the binky more then Caitlin. Both girls are growing fast, at their two week appointment they were at their birth weight. this week we increased their bottles by half an oz and they are eating every 3 hours          on the dot, sometimes a little sooner even at night. They were sleeping for about 4 hours at  time but not anymore, I miss that hour!! Luckly the girls do sleep in their own crib together and we can even put them down while they are awake. I cant blog without talking about their big brother. Caleb is doing very well, in school he is beginning to learn how to read. It amazes me that he comes home singing a song that identifies the letters and sounds they make and gets almost all of them correct. He got a badge on Friday for doing the best in his reading group (very proud mommy moment). Im going to attempt to put the girls down so I can get some things done before the next feeding. :)
