Merry Christmas!
After being at school for only 3 days, Caleb's what we thought was a cold, was getting worse so we took him to the doctor. It turns out that he has allergies and the doctor put him on some medication and recommended that he didn't go to school. So, he got to stay home on Thursday and Friday before Christmas, although I didn't like him being sick I didn't mind getting a few extra days with him. Thankfully, the medication took effect immediately and he returned to himself right away and we were able to carry on with our Christmas plans, except James got Pink Eye, but we still went. Saturday mid-morning we left for West Texas to spend Christmas with James' parents. Caleb did so much better then I expected on the 5 hour drive, it wasn't until the last hour that he really got fussy... but who doesn't being in the car for that long! Caleb had a wonderful time with his grandpa, grandma and aunts. He got a lot of great gifts including a winnie the pooh that glows in the dark, new nike shoes, and a bunch of new clothes! I think that the pooh is going to become his buddy soon and he'll be taking it everywhere! Santa made a special visit to grandpa and grandma's on Christmas Eve night (grandpa dressed up as Santa). Caleb was unsure of what to think of the man dressed in red with white hair and mustache. Everyone had a lot of fun playing with Caleb. They were all impressed how big he had gotten. Next year our little man will be running all over the place and trying to open all the presents early! We left to go back to Fort Worth and Caleb did such a good job in the car again. So just as we try to get back into the swing of things we have to prepare for Caleb's first airplane ride to Oregon. In just a couple weeks we leave for the Northwest and Caleb's other Grandparents get their chance to spoil him.

2 Months Old!!
So, before I get too emotional here's some things that Caleb has been doing lately. He has discovered his right arm and can move it where he wants to, so he'll just move his to in front of his eye and stare at it moving forever. It's so cute!
He can also move his arms to his month on his own and will suck on his hand, again oh so cute! He is holding up his head all the time now. The other day he was laying on his tummy on the floor and held up his head for a long time, I was able to run and get the camera to take a video but then he got tired just as I started it. He loves to talk and will just talk and talk even if he's by himself. He has learned who mommy and daddy are and his face just lights up when James gets home for work, he knows it's playtime. I love this picture of James reading to Caleb even though Caleb's eyes look like he is crazy.

First Thanksgiving
Sorry to be so late in posting Caleb's First Thanksgiving post, things have been a bit busy, Caleb is going through I want mommy all the time phase and I can't seem to ever put him down long enough to get to the blog or minor things like housework like priority. :)
We spent Thanksgiving at James' grandparents house in Tyler, TX with James' parents and sisters and aunt and uncle. We had a very nice time and the food was delicious! Grammy is a wonderful cook. I dressed Caleb up in his Thanksgiving outfit but of course as soon as we arrived, not everyone even got to see it, he had a little accident and his diaper wasn't enough for him! We didn't even get any pictures of him in it, but it's a cute oneies with a turkey on it and it said "Thankful for Mommy and Daddy". I think there were a few times with Caleb got a little overhelmed by all of the people and so much attention on him but other then that he was great and spent a lot of time sleeping on everyone. You can see in the pictures below. He did miss the Cowboy's game because he was fussy and overhelmed, I think he was fussy because he was missing it. He is a Cowboy's fan and hates to miss the games.
Sleeping on Great-Papa's Lap.
Sleeping on Grandma's Lap.
Sleeping in Daddy's Arms... He loves to sleep.
Caleb turned 7 weeks old yesterday and is growing and developing quickly. He can lift his head up, and turn his head to see who is talking to him. He has started to smile and laugh, James can really get him going when they are playing together.

Caleb's One Month Birthday

Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween! It's not only Caleb's First Halloween but his 3 Week Old Birthday. We didn't get Caleb a costume this year since we didn't do anything, instead we did get him a cute little Halloween outfit, here's a few pictures of it.

Caleb had his 2nd week appointment last week and he weighs 8 lbs and 10 ozs, when he came home he weighed only 7 lbs and 5 ozs... he is a growing boy and he just keeps growing, I can't seem to feed him enough these days. Last week was my first week alone during the days while James was at work and I was very surprised, it went a lot better then I thought that it would. Caleb and I visited with some friends from work and then met James for lunch, so we weren't just staying at home. Things are going good. I am loving being a mom and I can just watch Caleb forever with his cute expressions. Well, mommy duties call... Caleb needs yet another diaper change.

Caleb's First Week @ Home
Caleb has made it through his first week at home, meeting lots of family and getting use to his new home. Caleb has meet his great grandmas, great grammy, great papa, great aunts, grandmas, grandpas and aunts. He did really good through all of the chaos of family coming and going, there were a few times that he was overwelmed but he handled it very well. He is definitely a laid back little guy, who loves to sleep. At night he'll sleep for about 4 hours, 5 sometimes (mom is very lucky and not complaining at all) and he is a good eater too, he's always hungry when he wakes up. He is already growing like crazy, on Monday he had his first doctor's visit and was already back to his birth weight, his doctor said that most babies don't get there until their second week! He is starting to get a cute little belly. His grandma Sheri is leaving tomorrow, she has been here for two weeks and his daddy goes back to work on Tuesday so it'll just be him and his mommy. It's now time for Dad and Mom to take on this parenting thing. Here are some more photos of Caleb, we can't get enough photos of the little guy. The first picture is Caleb and James in his uniform after he worked an off-duty job at the high school volleyball game.

He's Here!
Caleb didn't want to wait for an induction to come into this world, he wanted to take us by surprise. On Tuesday afternoon my mom and I were out running errands and I felt pressure and a little cramping but it was similar to what I felt before so I didn't think much of it. We went to the hospital to do all of the paperwork for the next day's induced (little did we know, we would be back in just a few hours) and met James afterwards for dinner. At dinner the "pressure and cramping" was getting worse and when we got home there were times when it was getting worse and painful. I wasn't sure if they were contractions and I told my mom more of what I was feeling, well I was having contractions, they were about 45 seconds long about every 3 minutes, so off to the hospital we went. I was put into observation probably around 10pm with contractions getting stronger and as close together as a minute, and 2 cm dialated. There was a long wait and I wasn't able to get into labor and delivery until about midnight and I was 6 cm dialated and i finally got some pain medication. They gave me too much medication they thought it would be a lot more contractions, so I don't remember much of anything else, I somehow made it to 10cm and pushing for about an hour then at 1:11am Caleb was born. The combination of exhaustion from the pain and the pain medication put me to sleep so I slept until Caleb was here and even after. They even had to wake me up to push and I feel back asleep in the middle of it. I think it was a few hours before I actually got to hold the little guy. He weighted 7lbs 14 ozs and was 21 inches long. Overall, I have to say that it was an easy first delivery, only 4 hours long and no epidural!
We got home from the hospital yesterday and he is doing great. He loves his new home. Cowboy seems to be adjusting well to having a little brother, he is a little unsure when Caleb cries and wants to lick him all the time. Here are some pictures of our little guy.
All clean and just a few minutes old!!
My first day and all I want to do is sleep!
I'm in my going home outfit and ready to see my room.

Week 40... No Baby Caleb Yet
Well, Caleb is offically past his due date now and his due date was actually Oct 3rd not the 4th. I was off by a day. I had my regular doctor's appointment on Tuesday and everything is normal, Caleb is doing good, his heartbeat is regular and he is still growing. I still don't have any thinning although my doctor said I was dilated 1cm, but I think that she was just being nice and wanted me to think that I am making progress. I am just now starting to have contractions, they are irregular and not very painful yet, mainly just a discomfort. It looks like Caleb will be arriving on Wednesday October 10th unless he surprises us all and comes sooner. My mom is hoping that he won't come sooner then Monday because she is arriving on Sunday evening. Tomorrow is my last day at work and am very thankful for that. I'll be glad to have a few days to relax, spend time with my mom and get last minute things completed before Caleb's grand entrance is made. My next doctor's appointment is on Tuesday and the final decisions of Wednesday's induction will be made then.

Week 39
Yesterday I had my weekly appointment with my doctor and I still am not dilated and have no effacement, it looks at though Caleb is not ready to meet the world. I haven't even had any contractions except for Braxton-Hicks which are like once a week. There are still 7 days left before his due date, so it is still possible that he'll make it. Otherwise, I'll be induced on Oct. 10th. Next week, my doctor will confirm and set up the inducement officially if there is still no progress. I'll see her one more time on the 8th to do a final check, then on the 9th either she'll give me something in her office to cause effacement and i'll spend the night at home and report to the hospital in the morning or I'll spend the night in the hospital and they'll give me some medication through IV to cause effacement. It looks like only 14 days at the most until our little guy is here, we can't wait to meet him.

He Turned!!
Well, we received some good news on Tuesday when I had my weekly visit with my doctor, Caleb has finally decided to turn. He is head down, not ready to come into the world yet but at least he's in the right position. He is transverse, so his face is facing my right side. James was able to see him on the sonogram screen but I couldn't see him. :( Everything is going well, although my contractions haven't started yet. So, the waiting game begins...

Less Then A Month To Go
James & I are getting the last bit of things for the little guy, we still haven't gotten diapers yet. There are a few more things that I'd like to get for his nursery to complete his Winnie-The-Pooh theme but overall we are both ready for him to hurry up and get here. I don't think Cowboy is as excited as we are though, he is not going to be happy when this little baby takes time away from him! Here's some pictures of Caleb's nursery.
