33 weeks & bedrest

On Friday I will have made it to 34 weeks, yay!! That is a big milestone with twins, anytime after week 34 our sweet little girls can come.  I have weekly appointments now that seem to last forever, I have a sono, have to be on the fetal movement monitor for an hour (it watches my contractions too) and then I see the doctor.  The last sono appointment where we had measurements of the girls, I think it was about week 32 the girls were 3 lbs, 11oz and 3lbs, 9oz.  Getting sono pictures of the girls is harder now because the girls are getting big and more squished.  My doctor is still holding out that we'll have the C-section wk 37-38..only 3 1/2 more weeks to go.  I have been on bedrest for 14 days due to contractions.  It sounds nice not able to do anything just lay in bed all day but I find it really challenging.  I spend my days reading and watching tv and thinking about all the things that I should be doing but can't.  I am very thankful for James, he makes sure that I follow the "rules" and has taken over all the household duties and taking care of Caleb.  I certainly couldn't do this without him! It's really hard to be on bedrest during the Christmas season, I feel like I'm missing out on the Christmas spirit, not being able to do any of the wonderful Christmas activities like going to see lights, photos with Santa and shopping.  I have done the Christmas shopping online and it's a lot easier but I miss the busyness of Christmas shopping, it's just not the same.  I seem to be more focused on the girls coming rather then the fact that Christmas is just a little more then a week away.  I did take a break from bedrest to build a gingerbread train with Caleb.  He built the gingerbread house last year and has so much fun doing it.

23 Weeks

I'm a few weeks behind, I'm actually 25 weeks and going strong, my last sono appointment was at 23 weeks.  The girls are doing very well, they weigh 1 lb and 4 oz each.  They are both laying vertical, one with her head down and the other with her head up so they'll already getting along great, kicking each other in the face.  Everything is going really well.  I am now seeing my doctor every 2 weeks and being monitored closely to make sure I don't go into preterm labor.  I'll keep having sonos every 4 weeks, which is fun to get to see my girls. :)  They are very active, one of them is always moving around and their movements are beginning to be able to be seen outside of my belly.  Caleb thinks it's so fun when he can see/feel them move around.  He is still very excited about his sisters, he gives them a hug and kiss every morning when I drop him off at school, talks about how he is going to give them bottles and play with his sisters.  I keep praying that it'll stick around once the girls arrive.

Caleb Turns 4!!!

I can't believe that Caleb is now 4 years old, it seems like just yesterday I was pregnant, although now I am pregnant with our sweet little princesses, which probably plays a role in my remember when.... days.  I'm sure the pregnancy is contributing to my emotions although it seems like this birthday has been the hardest in facing my little boy is growing up.  It just amazes me everyday when I pick him up from school and his daily work consists of writing his name and learning to write his letters and numbers.  It just doesn't seem right, my little baby can't be learning to read and write.  This year we had a birthday party for him and he invited all of his friends in his class (thankfully they didn't all show up, there's 23) and some of our friends that have little ones his age.  He was so excited for his party, as soon as I gave out the invites, it was all he talked to his friends about (and of course his baby sisters, it's an ongoing conversation, many of his friends have little sisters that have already come out of the belly :) ), all of this more evidence about how much my little baby is growing up.  I'm so happy that we still have next year before he moves up to the really big school and attends kindergarten.  Maybe our little princesses won't grow up as far as their big brother is (I know, but I can hope & wish).

Celebrating Caleb's Birthday

where has the time gone?

On Monday our little man turns 4, I believe how fast the time has gone.  We spent this morning at the zoo, it was finally cool enough for us to go and Caleb has been asking to go for weeks.  Next weekend Caleb is going to have his birthday party and is very excited.  Every day when I pick him up at school, his friends are all saying they want to go to his birthday party.  We invited his whole class (that's 23 friends)!

Then - Caleb was just about to turn 1 the first time we went to the zoo

Now - Caleb is about to turn 4
(sorry, Blogger is working against me and I can't get the photo the right direction)

Our Little Blessings

James, Caleb & I are very excited to announce that we will be having two little girls (twins) joining our family in January!!  I am just beginning the 5th month of the pregnancy and things are going very well and I am so thankful for that.  Last week we had another sonogram (we get to have them every 4 weeks) and found out that our little ones are girls, they are measuring right on target at 10 and 11 oz and about 8 inches long.

Introducing Baby A (her photo is actually a month old, she is very swished right now and didn't want to smile for the camera so the photo is from last month)

Introducing Baby B (she has all the room right now)

And here is Big Brother Caleb

Soccer & Labor Day

Last weekend was Caleb's last soccer game for the season, he's going to take the next season off and hoping to start t-ball in the spring.  Here's our little defender in action.

and some pictures

For the long weekend we headed to East Texas to visit Papa and Grammy, Caleb loved all the freedom of being outdoors, he spent his time escaping the sun room to go outside.  He showed Papa and Grammy his skills playing t-ball, riding his trike and soccer.

Papa and Grammy gave Caleb new bubbles...he loves bubbles

Caleb even let Papa have a turn
Caleb stopped playing (reason for red face) for a few seconds to get a picture with Grammy
  Caleb and Papa playing soccer.

Stay tuned later this week for some exciting news......

Caleb's Photo Shoot

I know, it's been forever since I have blogged, the last 2 months have been a crazy ride for the Wall family. Memorial day we headed to College Station see Michael and Rachel tie the knot stopping at the Bush Library along the way. Grandpa and Grandma stopped by for a visit while they were passing through town and Granddad and Nana were right behind them.  If that wasn't enough, we had a week of daily fires in the field behind our house coming within yards of our fence.  For 4th of July we headed to Canyon to celebrate the holiday with the Wall Family.  And just to make sure that we keep busy, I'm off to Chicago this week for some training and James is headed to San Marcos the following week for training.  Here's some photos of Caleb from our wonderful photographer, Lisa.

Goin on a Bug Hunt

Caleb's Easter package arrived today from Grandma and Grandpa, James is working tonight, it was perfect timing, some new to keep Caleb entertained.  :)  He got a magnifying glass to look at bugs and was very excited to go outside right away and start looking for bugs.  So, after dinner we went out a bug hunt.  Here's Caleb in action.
