Lunch at ChuckECheese

Today we met our friends for lunch at ChuckECheese, thankfully it wasn't too busy and it tired the kids out for a wonderful naptime. :) Caleb even go the chance to do a dance with the Chuck man. Here are some photos of Caleb and McKayla having some fun.

Our "Big Boy"

It was a week ago that our little boy turned 3!! I think Caleb turning 3 has been the hardest one yet.  When he was 1 and 2, he could still be called my baby, but now he is my "big boy".  He is no longer a baby or even a toddler, he is now a preschooler.  He has gone from a baby being completely dependent on everyone around him to a very independent boy.  At 3 years old our "big boy" can:
  • swim underwater for 10 seconds (although he has given up swim lessons and will start soccer next month)
  • dress himself with just a little help
  • go to the bathroom by himself (still a work in progress)
  • knows his ABC's and can count to 20
  • can hold a conversation with you
  • doesn't sit still very often
  • has been to a lot of Ranger games and recognizes the players
  • plays baseball and soccer all the time in the house
  • he loves NASCAR, Aflec (Carl Edwards is his favorite)
  • he spends his time playing cars and trains
  • his favorite characters are Spiderman, Buzz & Woody, Thomas the Train, Lightening McQueen, Mickey Mouse, and Special Agent Oso
  • he has 3 favorite blankets, and Seal, Puppy or Penguin that go to school with him and accompany him at night
  • is a good eater and will eat anything that doesn't have egg or nuts in it.
  • loves chocolate, ice cream and Dr. Pepper (just like his momma)
  • When asked what he wants to be when he grows up he says, he wants to play soccer
  • His best friend is McKayla
  • Has upgraded his 6 volt ATV to a 12 volt power wheels jeep (see below)
I am just so amazed at how much Caleb has grown through the years and can't wait to see what his future holds for him.  We have been so blessed with Caleb in our lives. We Love You Caleb!!

To Infinity and Beyond

Last week, Uncle Phil came to visit us.  I think he was shocked by how big Caleb has gotten.  He has really crossed over from the baby to the big boy.  While Phil was here, we were finishing up our potty training...Caleb now goes potty in the potty except he's having some trouble with number 2. :) I know you all wanted to know that.  I'm very proud of him, he has gone about two weeks without an accident for number 1.  Now, at nap time and bed time he still wears a pull up...we aren't there yet but soon.  Potty training wasn't that hard, just had to wait until Caleb was ready to make the big step up. Now, he gets to move up in his class at school and he'll be with the three year olds starting tomorrow!!  So, while Phil was here we just hung around town, we were able to make it to a Rangers game.  Caleb has become the littlest biggest Rangers Fan, he recognizes a lot of players and really watches the game.  Uncle Phil brought with him Caleb's early birthday present, Buzz Lightyear and Lighting McQueen pj's and the book "Going on a Bear Hunt".  Caleb loves his new pj's, BuzzWooody (as he refers to both Buzz and Woody at the same time), he runs around the house "flying" and saying "to infinity and beyond".  Here are a few pictures of Caleb aka Buzz Lightyear.  In just 14 days, our little guys is turning three...stay tuned for more pictures to come of the big birthday boy!!!

Labor Day 2010

Labor day weekend we headed out of town and off to Galveston with a stop at Kemah Boardwalk on the way there and a stop at the Space Center in Houston on the way home.  We stayed at the hotel Inn At The Waterpark...not sure if I would recommend it.  The room was nice, we stayed in the new tower but our second night there the people next to us and above us were loud.  The hotel is next to Moody Gardens, which was convenient, but it was away from the beach.  Next time, I'm thinking a beach house would be nice!! Moody Gardens was a lot of fun, we spent Saturday going through the aquarium pyramid and the discovery pyramid.  Definitely don't recommend the discover pyramid, it's an exhibit on immigration into Texas which we saw at the Bullock Museum in Austin.  We went on the Colonel Paddleboat ride, Caleb loved being on a big boat.  Sunday we went to the Palm Beach at the Moody Gardens, I loved it! There is a splash pad, two swimming pools, a kids water playground with slide and a sandy beach that overlooks the Bay.  We spent the evenings at the beach, which I completely loved.  It wasn't the same as the Oregon Coast but hey the water was warm and you could get in it without freezing your butt off. Caleb loved playing in the water.  On Monday we left Galveston before the storm came but it caught up to us in Houston.  When we were leaving the Space Center we experienced the red of the storm all the way through Houston.  I was soo happy when we saw blue skies, thankfully we made it home before the storm made it to DFW.  At the Space Center we took a tram tour and got to go to the building where the astronauts actually train and saw the Saturn V Rocket up close.  Caleb loved all the space ships, although when Dad asked him if he wanted to be an astronaut, he said "No, I play soccer".  Here are a few pictures of our trip, there are a lot more on our flickr site.  Just go to:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/jcwall

Granddad & Nana Come...

ast weekend Granddad and Nana came to visit us... here's what we did.

Friday we spent the morning at Six Flags Over Texas, he loved "driving" the truck so much, he had to go twice.
Caleb didn't like this ride as well, it circled up and stop at the top for a little bit and then went back down.  You can see there was a little bit of fear.  He didn't want to ride it again.
Caleb had to go on his ride all by himself, I was so proud of him, he didn't even get scared!!
You can't go to Six Flags and not play the games... Caleb played the game where you throw the ball into the hole.
The roller coaster that is orange is called The Titan, James, Dad and I went on it.  I am very proud of myself that I went on it.  I don't think I have ever been that scared before.
After a long morning at Six Flags, a nap is required!
What's Six Flags without Superman.  Caleb ran around the house with his arms out yelling "I'm Flying" before bedtime.
Saturday morning, it was swim lessons.  This was the last class before summer session so they took a few minutes to practice pool safety, what it's like to fall in the pool with clothes on.
Showing off for Granddad and Nana

 Our Little Fish
Caleb has now moved on from his mommy and me classes and is in the big pool.  Yesterday was his first class in the big pool.
After swim, it was onto Texas Motor Speedway.  Caleb loves NASCAR and was excited to see the cars.
He even got to sit behind the wheel of the car that his daddy would soon be driving.
Watching the cars
Dad and James all ready to race.
Ready to watch Daddy win!!
There's Daddy!!
And to finish out our weekend, Sunday afternoon we were off to watch the Rangers lose to the Cubs and sweat (it was really hot!!)
