Starting The New Year

Wow! The last month and almost second month have gone by so fast. If this is any indication as to how 2009 is going to go, I'm in trouble. I haven't even really gotten a chance to just relax (except for my wonderful spa day today - Thank You James!!). And Caleb is growing and growing he just won't stop.

I received my first scare the other morning, I hadn't even made it to the office yet when i received a phone call from Caleb's school asking if I could go pick him up. Of course! The director let me know that Caleb had a little tumble into the corner of a table and busted his lip open pretty badly. We took him to the doctor and thankfully he didn't need stitches and none of his teeth were loose except he did chip his tooth. It's not too noticeable. He went back to school that afternoon. I will let you that he has busted his lip at least twice since that has happened. I received another phone call from his school that he had busted his lip again - this time he was going down the slide head first and got a mouthful of bark dust! I wasn't surprised, when I take him to the park, he wants to go down the slide every way but on his bottom. There was no rush to the doctor this time though, I told the director once he stops crying just put him back in his class and he'll play. Caleb is very much the dare devil - my son is fearless! I could go on for hours about his risk taking.

In addition to being fearless, he never sits still, James' rotation right now is that he's been working on the weekends which means a lot of mommy and Caleb time or Caleb driving mommy crazy and wearing her out time. I have learned that he must go to the park at least once during the weekend and when we can't make it to the park, the garage and the front yard will work. He loves bubbles, so we usually do bubbles and then play catch. I have to really watch him because he likes to run outside which results in falls. He's tough though, whenever he falls, he'll get right back up and start to play.
I can't believe how much Caleb is growing up, he is still loving
to play with balls, trucks (he can even say truck but its a f sound not t) and currently he has to take his corn popper everywhere with him. This morning he woke up at 7am and went and got the corn popper. Caleb was able to whip out his shorts
this month when we got up to the high seventies. I can't believe that it's January & February and my son is wearing shorts! Notice Caleb's messy hair, mom wasn't looking forward to taking him to get his hair cut without dad but I finally did. This was his fourth hair cut and it went so much better because he sat on my lap instead of in the chair by himself, the only problem was mom got hair all over here, even with the gown thing. Not only did mom finally take him to get his hair cut but I also finally returned his basketball hoop (he got two for Christmas). Caleb & I took a trip to Toys R Us, I have learned to go early on Sunday mornings because no one is out yet. This allows Caleb to be able to walk around the store and look at the toys. He even stopped and played with Thomas the Train, I can see Thomas very soon in our future. Right now, everything is ball, trucks, Wiggles and a little bit of Pooh and Backyardagins. So anyways, I returned his basketball hoop and Caleb and I picked out this really cool VTech Car Carrier Truck, he's playing with it in the kitchen.
One afternoon our very good friends Salina & McKayla came over so the kidos could play and Salina and I could have some time to catch up. Having children especially young ones makes it very hard to spend time with your friends, even just finding time to talk on the phone is rare. Caleb & McKayla are so cute, she will just sit and watch him, smiling and laughing while Caleb shows off for her. They are best friends. :) As you can see Caleb did get his haircut and has his cute little faux hawk again. I just love it!
