White Christmas 2009

What a wonderful Christmas we had this year.  On Christmas Eve James spent the day working and Caleb and I were off to visit Santa at the mall and then came home right before the snow started to come down...it came down from about noon to 7pm!! We had 2-3 inches and since it was so windy there were drifts of over a foot... we still have some snow that hasn't melted yet and are expected to get less then an inch today! It was a white Christmas for us.  Caleb and I went out in the snow, it lasted about 2 seconds and then he wanted to come in, he was not having it.

Caleb Wanting to Come Back In

After our adventures in the snow, it was cookie baking time.  Caleb helped me cut out all the sugar cookies, there was 2 dozen!

We also took some time out of photography sessions, he really gets into having his photo taken.

When James got off work we had dinner and were planning on waiting until Christmas Day to open gifts but there is something in the Wall blood that you have to open gifts early.... so we opened gifts.

(yes, that really says 1,000 stickers)

After every gift Caleb had a play with each new toy!

and when you need a little rest, just sit on the next gift to open

On Saturday James parents arrived and we had a good dinner and then it was time to open more gifts.

April was very excited to open her gift from us. :)

Caleb got more Thomas the Train..movies, books & a cup!

Where is Caleb?  He was helping Grandpa open his gift.... all you can see is his little hands!!

Spending some time with Grandma
The next morning we were off Grapevine, stopping at the Gaylord Texan (the most amazing hotel ever) and of course shopping at Grapevine Mills!

Caleb and Grandpa have a tradition that whenever we all go to Grapevine Mills, they ride on the carousal. Caleb loves it!

Our Little Fish

Last Saturday Caleb completed his second swim lesson session and graduated from Waterbabies 2.   Thankfully, we have a few weeks off from swim lessons and will start up again the second week in January.  Caleb will be moving into the Waterbabies 3 class, where he will begin to have classes without mom! I'm looking forward to not having to participate in swim lessons. :) This next session is 20 weeks and after that he'll be on his own.  Of course the weeks when we don't take the camera he is wonderful and the weeks we do have the camera he's stubborn.

Turkey Day 2009

Happy Thanksgiving! There is so much to be thankful for this holiday season, my wonderful husband, my cute son, great family and friends, a job, our house.... (I could keep going but I'll stop there) We spent Thanksgiving with James' Papa and Grammy, we headed out Thursday morning and came home on Saturday late afternoon.  James had to work today.  It was so wonderful for Caleb to spend some time with his great grandparents, he loved his time with them.  He learned how to say Grammy, Papa and Laurie.  It was so cute, whenever they walked in the room he would say "Hi" and everything was Papa, where was Papa, what was Papa doing and I want to see Papa.  On Thursday we went into town and went to a park and a wildlife museum.  There was a train and an old fire truck at the park, Caleb thought that was so cool.  Everything is fire truck and choo choo these days.

While visiting with Papa and Grammy we visited Bud and Freda in Holly Lake Ranch, where there are deer taking over, eating all plants in sight.  Usually they only have about 200 deer and right now they have 1800 deer in the gate community and the deer are 30 lbs under weight.  Here are some photos of the deer, we got pretty close to them on our drive through the community.

Thanksgiving is a wonderful time of the year and it's important for us to be thankful.... and now it's Christmas time!! I love this time of the year.  Caleb and I put up our Christmas tree and decorations today.  I tried to get Caleb to stand in front of the tree but he wanted to sit in the chair.  Once he was in the chair he wouldn't look at me so this is the picture that I got.

Happy Belated Halloween!!

I know, i know Halloween was almost 3 weeks ago and I'm just now getting around to posting some pictures.  I can tell you that it has been very crazy around our place.  Phil was here for a week, Caleb started his new daycare, had his 2nd year check up where we found out he has an ear infection, Caleb had a birthday party to go to, somewhere in there was Halloween and we had a Fall Festival at Caleb's new school, went to Boo at the Zoo and trick or treating and then James' father came last weekend and James and him went to Nascar.  Caleb seems to be doing pretty well at his new school, whenever I log in online to check on him he's playing with his new friends although he does cry every morning when I leave but the teachers say that it's only for a few minutes. He is growing up so much these days, talking all the time, going potty in the potty, gaining such a strong and stubborn personality.  He weighs in at 28 lbs and 2'9" tall!!! That may sound big, but he is only in the 50% percentile for his age and is actually shorter then a lot of his friends.  Caleb really enjoyed trick or treating this year, he has learned a new word, "candy" and after everyhouse he kept saying "more, more". And don't be fooled he didn't wait until we got home to start digging in to the candy, I think it was after the first or second house he had his first piece, a sucker.

Caleb's Birthday Celebration!

Saturday was the big day, Caleb officially turned two! And I can't forget that Sunday James & I celebrated our 3rd anniversary.  We didn't have a big birthday party as we were planning, Caleb is going through some transititions at day care and we decided it would be best if we passed this year..not to mention he already had two celebrations and he's still young.  The weekend before James' parents and sisters came out and we celebrated his birthday then.  It was great being able to spend time with family and celebrate Caleb's birthday for the second time. Since Caleb had his birthday party the weekend before, we had a nice relaxing weekend this past weekend.  Saturday night James & I were out to dinner and a movie.  We saw Couple's Retreat - what a great movie! It was nice to spend some time together.  Then Sunday we had our friends over and Caleb enjoyed showing McKayla all his new toys!

Yes, that is his shirt around his waist and he did it ALL BY HIMSELF!

This is what we call his TV trance...at the age of 2 our son is already a TV junkie

And don't worry while he watches TV he can go bowling and eat a snack and drink milk! He is very talented.

Who needs chairs when you have a box to sit in.

Here's photos from his birthday celebration.... look at all those presents!
